Best practice summary: The EIT Food Competency Framework provides a robust infrastructure for innovation and entrepreneurship skills.
By whom: EIT Food
Key ingredients / description: The EIT Food Competency Framework is a novel approach to introduce a key piece of infrastructure to embed and enhance innovation and entrepreneurship education at professional and vocational education and training levels. The four levels of proficiency, and eight core competences can be used by training providers, academic institutions, employers, employees and job seekers. The framework is supported by a novel approach to certification of skills, based on the independent assessment of competencies gained through formal and informal learning experiences (such as workplace-based learning). The project encompasses the development of a unifying framework, certification system and a joint curriculum approach with industry. The framework articulates the business-education partnership, stakeholder involvement and feedback mechanisms between VET/professional education and the labour market.
